Objective: Design a primary symbol using an animal as the subject matter while incorporating an assigned artistic style; create additional companion pieces.
This project comes from a graphic design course I took while studying at Pepperdine University. Students were instructed to create 50 iterations of an animal of their choosing, then narrow down these designs to a single symbol. The symbol had to incorporate an artistic style which was assigned at random for the student to research and adapt into their design. My artistic style was Rococo and my animal was a fox.
After creating the initial design, we are instructed to create three companion pieces in the same style and think of a creative way to apply our four symbols. As each of my symbols have a relatively circular composition and highly embellished shapes, I applied my designs to four house sigils.
